About me

I am a resident of Williamston, South Carolina. I graduated Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute with a degree in Tuba Performance. I studied under Velvet Brown. I was the recipient of the Jack Russell Markert Memorial Scholarship while at Peabody. I am currently enrolled at Penn State University in the Professional Performance Certificate program. I am a former student of the late John Sizemore and previously attended The Fine Arts Center and The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Fine Arts and Humanities in Greenville, SC. I have performed at Carnegie Hall with the Carolina Youth Symphony under the direction of Dr. Leslie Hicken of Furman University. In 2017 I traveled to Italy to perform chamber work and sing at the Vatican while studying Music under Dr. David Hamilton at the SC Governor’s School.

My performances and venues include Greenville Peace Center, various Wind Ensembles, SC Music Educators Convention, Festival Disney, SCBDA Concert Festival, All County and Regional Bands. I volunteer my services and experience for the Boy Scouts Troop 715 during Scout Sunday, Holiday Services for Messiah Lutheran Church in Mauldin, SC, and The Foothills Philharmonic.

On a return trip to Italy in the summer of 2018, I attended Italian Brass Week in Florence, Italy to play and learn from Roger Bobo, Anne Jelle, Mario Barsotti, and Gene Pokorny of the Chicago Symphony.

My goal as a performer is to become the principal tubist for a major symphony but share my love for music in all my endeavors.
